National Parks
Junior Ranger Books
With the addition of two new National Parks in Alabama, two new Junior Ranger books needed to be created. The first of the two parks was the Freedom Riders National Park in Anniston. This book highlighted many of the struggles that the Freedom Riders went through and used many artifacts.
The other book was developed for the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument, which is a collective of seven different groups to create one experience.

Understand History
Utilizing many elements from the Grayhound buses they rode in, typefaces inspired by highway signage, and the beautiful artifact from the Freedom Riders, the overall look honored history while also making it approachable for kids of today.
Building on History
With the variety of places involved in the development of this book, there were many opportunities to build on what happened in Birmingham. Adding and building upon the story was critical to respecting the history of those events and provided a safe space for future generations to reflect on the past and add a peaceful side of the story.
